This has been discussed in the past, but can anyone recommend a freeware virus protector that includes everything for protection. My trial period expired and I don't mind buying something, but thought I'd check here first to save a few $.

Got my 2x today from Tye. Wow, don't think he even played it and I just love the layout.......thanks Tye smile

Microsoft Security Essentials for me... quite, unassuming, low resource... highly recommended.

Who's Tye?

AVG Free is an excellent program, however over the years it has become very bloated, so if you are using an older computer (2-3 years) I would go for one of the others.

NOTE: Remember AVG free is not a full security suite and so is limited to mainly virus and Malware detection.

If you shop around online you will find full security suites are relatively cheap these days, so is another option to consider.

WARNING: Avoid MacAfee like the plague as it is pretty much useless in all departments.

Hope this helps

Bill
