AJ,

will AUDYA bring us brand new styles or just the same old styles from XD, SD series except reworked with audio loops?

will i get a new merengue, cumbia, bolero, soca, bossa, etc??

i know they will be audio based, and sound fresh, live, but anything brand new?

i want some fresh NEW stuff, not just same exact styles with an audio/live feel to them

hope also that they will add some GOOD modern stuff, dance, techno, etc, a little of everything for everyone...

last question....
will AUDYA be expandable..meaning perhaps new audio loops and styles down the road we can download and import?

or what's in the box is all we get. that's it..!! ??

thanks...

Audya probably be more contemporary than SD etc. I only wish they keep or add a stylesection that
is not too far from the SD1 / SD5 styles as well.
Sooo many great Ketron styles already created, and it would be sad if not rebuildt to fit Audya.

i want all existing styles BUT improved with better sounding samples/sounds & KILLER audio loops,

and want a TON of new MODERN styles

want it to be upgradable (both styles and sounds)

want it to come out soon

and want it to be competitively priced with Tyros 3, G-70, PA2X

is that too much to ask for ?

YES!

Oh well, first, if it's so that the styles from previous Ketron models can't be converted
or loaded, then it hopefully have an easy composer to edit what there is and/or that make
it easy to create styles by ourseves.

But Ketron probably mean business, 1st goal is to earn money, so there will be only a "few"
styles onboard the Audya, and Ketron are going to produce styles an mass to sell separately.
And the price of styles wil not be low...... neither will Audya according to what already
predicted.

But, if Audya turns out to be the ultimate arranger keyboard, and it is made to be expanded
and upgraded by hard and software, it could be worth the price.

Anyway, time will tell, and when I closed my eyes and looked into the crysta ball, I could
see Audya arrive at 01 April 2009.

Cheers and Happy Playing

I don't use the onboard styles. my sd1 is a platform where i can play my loops and samples. the greatest thing about sd1 is that it is the only keyboard i know that have 1 touch selection of 8 sounds and samples. I change sounds a lot. sometimes twice in a single bar, so this is very important to me that the Audya had the same feature.
the worst thing is the limited sampler, and that it have glitches and "hick ups" and I own two sd1s so i know it is the instrument's fault.
my guess is that AUDYA will not be that expensive. it must compete with other keyboards and it can be a little more than the competition but not a lot more.

Any new model has always accepted any of the previous models styles, why would that change now. AJ has already stated that the audya will take all of the styles on any previous model.

I'm sure that there will be some of the sd5 styles in the audya and some new also.

QUOTE AJ's post at http://www.synthzone.com/ubbs/Forum37/HTML/018445.html :

A little more information on AUDYA.
Chord recognition: Audya will be able to recognize all chords currently recognized within the current Ketron line up (e.g SD1Pus, SD5, ...) - including Rootless Chord recognition.

STYLES in general will be a mixture of both Midi and Audio. In some cases, more Audio (Drum 2, Chord, Bass) than others ... depending on the style. The reason we are still holding onto midi is to allow backward compatibility with previous Ketron styles (e.g. from Midijay), otherwise current Ketron customers will NOT be able to use 'older' styles in this product. Ofcoure using AUDIO in styles for live play is the revolution we are trying to create, so all out AUDIO styles will also be included, but due to the AUDIO, these styles will not be compatible with any other machine.

DESIGN: The project is still on and currently in QA. We want to make sure we release a product as complicated as AUDYA with a OS as stable as a rock. It should be out before Namm 2009.

One thing I`we been wondering about is: Does the Ketron keyboards uses the system,
like the Korg..OS 1,1...2,0 and so on,or is it like Yamaha, nothing at all.
Will buy an Audya,....

i will buy an AUDYA only if it's competitively priced with its competition

and only if Roland doesn't come out with something to top it

and only if its a BIG improvement over my exisiting XD3 module

would rather have an AUDYA module, as then i can use ANY keyboard to control it , even my featherlight 8lb Korg XD5 :-)

we just have to wait and see...

Ketron do release updates to the OS when any fixes or improvements are done
and make it downloadable at Ketrons website, well, at least they did for a
while.... SD5 i.e., no updates yet.

As of a few weeks ago, I was told the keyboard will be available in December with a street price now down at around $4800.00 US. I hope this information is correct!

i think a price of $4800, over 5 thousand $$ with tax...
will deter MANY people...i for one

i feel if they wanna sell lots of them they have to make it competitive, under $4 K

AJ, wow good news...

AJ, is it true the AUDYA will come to us next month? i heard mention of this..

and if so,,,

whay doesn't Ketron put some demos of these 95% new styles up on their site?

i would love to hear more than just a rhumba, or rock strumming demos.

can i hear some latin stuff? merengue, cumbia, salsa, bachata, bossa, soca, 8 beat, 16 beat,

what's the strategy in holding back demos?
i mean this keyboard is no surprise, as it's been shown at a few conventions already ???

AJ, one more thing...

due to the fact that this AUDYA will probably not be around for anyone to demo, meaning no dealer will carry, or shall i say VERY few dealers will carry, due to it's astronomical price...

could you URGE Ketron to put Demos on their site of ALL their styles...

how else is one to try hear the AUDYA ?
we just take people word that it great?

thanks

WOW!

The Tyros 3 are selling for US$ 4400 ( 30.000,- N.Kr ) here these days, and the predicted
price for Audya is US$ 7350 ( 50.000,- N.Kr ). !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, I've seen price downgraded to 45.000,- N.Kr. Thats US$ 6.600

(Currency US$ 1 = N.Kr. 6.80)

Guess we have world record in high prices. Speak about taxes? Yeah, we know all about it!

Cheers

Ketron, just as other manufacturers, want to sell the products, or else, no survival.
I'm sure when problems solved, more demos and info will show up....
Because usually: No PR = No sales unless you have a damn good product that speak for
itselves.

Whats worries me most, are the fact that Ketron still keep on the total silence, not
a single word about what cause the delay and when or if this baby will be ready for us
to try out and maybe buy.
I think they did a wrong move from start, they could give a tiny update to i.e. SD1 and
SD5, and not start any big hype about this wondermachne while developement going on, and
then, when time is right, or even better, ready to sell: VOILAAA!! Audya is born!!

Oh well, guess the world will continue rotate no matter what.

Cheers

Yeah, you're right, that's why I suggest we Norwegians should
get 2 for the price of 1, and give you Swedish people the 2.nd
one for doubble price.

Nah, seriously, we can probably afford it. High taxes does a lot,
but why we are the ones who always have to pay twice as much as
others in this world, are a mystery to me.

Heija Sverige!
