The Pew Research Center has available an interesting quiz that by answering a series of questions on various issues, will show where you land compared to others.

Takes just a few minutes to complete. Its free, no pay wall or registration required.

Take the quiz here: Reasonable Conversation

Could make for an interesting discussion. Did you turn out the way you anticipated or were you surprised? These things aren't 100% accurate, you can always poke holes in their methodology, but still something fun to try.

Bill, I tried to respond to your blog topic entitled

"What if the world ends, who do you want to see in heaven?".

It didn't seem to take although I selected 'anonymous' as a profile. In any case, this was the comment I TRIED to post.

Hypothetically (since no such place exists), if there were such a place, none (or very few) of the people I'd like to meet and talk to would be there. But, disregarding the location smile , the people I'd most like to have met would include (but not be limited to) the following:

Guy de Maupassant
Honoré de Balzac
Aldous Huxley
John Donne
Edgar Allan Poe
Thelonious Monk
Hannibal
Martin Luther King, Jr
Sameul Clemmens (Mark Twain)
Charles Barkley
Oscar Wilde
Christopher Hitchens
H. Rap Brown
Rod Serling
Edith Piaf
Marcus Garvey
Larry David
Bill Evans
William F. Buckley (suprise!)
Albert Einstein
Jimmy Carter (already met at a HH build)

As you can see, some are still with us, so there's still hope.

I'm not sure what this says about me, though.

Sorry about that, try it again please.

Post your comment in the provided for space, select anonymous and then click on "post comment".

It should work. If anyone else wants to test this feature, that would be welcome...

I've heard of no other problems yet on it...

Chas that is such an awesome selection of people. I can totally identify with your choices. I guess I would also love to meet Django Reindhart, Jimi Hendrix, Charlie Christian, John Coltrane, Dave Brubeck and Miles Davis .... oh and my favorite bass player of all time who is still with us and who I saw play live a couple of years back with Return To Forever ... Stanley Clarke http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YShQZUMe7g&feature=related ... pure musical magic.

Few bands from any era or any genre' could match these guys for musicianship, creativity, and just sheer mastery of their instruments. It's as though God himself put these guys together. However, I didn't want my list to include just musicians, but more the people that I found intriguing as personalities. Certainly if I were limiting it to just musicians, every one of the guys you named would be in the top ten.

My mother caught me reading Balzac's 'Droll Tales' when I was @ 10 or 11 (plucked from our library). She frowned but didn't ban me from reading it. It was like great medieval porn for an 11 year old smile . Both of my parents were educators, so I'm grateful for the literary exposure I had as a child.

Bill's blog is very interesting, as evidenced by this particular topic (Who would you like to meet in Heaven?). Of course, in order to meet anyone there, you first have to get there yourself. Oh well.

Stanley is GREAT! I also love my little buddy Victor Wooten. One of Ray Brown's last performances was with Victor and a "legit" bass player...Edgar Meyer (also fantastic). I was lucky to see that one in Louisville, Ky. It ranks 2nd to the performance by Return to Forever in Lexington in 1977. It was the last performance by the band before disbanding.

Just wish Victor would forget the Bluegrass thing he does with Bella Fleck.

Oh well,

R.
