I enjoyed that! The multi pad "come on" made me smile.

HI Bart

Very nice performance, you play very well. Is that a self composition or someone else'? I'd love to know the song as I'm a big jazz fan (apparently not big enough to know that song! lol)

Keep 'em coming, I enjoyed it very much! The T4 sounds GREAT!!!

I had the same question. The song sounds very familar but I couldn't remember from where.

Also if you can, could you please tell us how you recorded it? type of camera/mic...

This song is borrowed from example #6 called Gotta Groove in a Smooth Jazz book. I improvised on the solo, etc. This type of sound is very similar to Brian Culbertson (jazz funk type of stuff).

Recording: I used my Nikon D3100 SLR on tripod to record the video and recorded the sound to hard drive on Tyros. Then, I used video editing software to sync the music and the good-quality sound.

Very nicely played and arranged Bart, and as was already said, nice tasteful use of the MultiPad.

I've just ordered an FC-7 Volume pedal for my Tyros4 to make the organ and, of course, the other sustaining type voices more expressive. With the SA and other voices, the sound will die away slowly using the sustain pedal, but for the SA organ and SA2 voices, the sound is a continuous sustain, so I want to be able to fade the sound out at the end of a phrase.

What style did you use for the tune?

Ian

Hi Barty. Nice. cool Great to see you enjoying and playing your new Tyros 4.

Questions:

1) What video 'format' and 'resolution' did you shoot this at? Did you upload to YouTube in same resolution you shot it at, or down covert file size first?

2) What video editing software did you use to sync the audio with video? Does it automatically sync, or do you visually match up the start point of the two?

Some quick answers:

1. The style is called Disco Funk.

2. I shot the video at HD resolution 1280x720. The youtube did its own conversion.

3. I think I just used the Windows Movie Maker and I "eyeballed" the start of the song as close as I could. Then scrolled to the end of the file to see whether the end is still synced. I do not have a lot of time to spend on T4 due to work, kids, etc. so I had to do one take, convert, etc.
