I got confirmation my BK-7m will be shipped to me on March 28th.

It appears to me ..reading the manual...that the unit closely resembles the E80 engine wise..

I think once the performance list are organized, this gear will work great with my A-33..in the band(replacing the 61 key Prelude)...

I will know within a half hour, if it is a keeper..My reservations..it must play the media as well as the Prelude(instant without load times)..if not..look at the want ads on SZ...and you will find it listed.. smile

Got an FC-7, Fran? From reading the manual, one of those is going to be a BIG help...

Keep us informed, Fran. I'm interested in knowing how the BK performs too. Uncle Sam wants me to buy something this year...

Hi Fran,

I'll be very interested in your report on the module as I've been thinking about adding it to my setup.

That is great news, Fran...and, like the others, I'm very interested in what your impressions will be on the unit.

I'm thinking it would be a great module to use with the 25 lb Yamaha P-95/85 piano...that certainly would keep things manageable, and let us Yammie guys enjoy the Roland sounds and styles.

Getting excited? Hope it ticks the boxes, and if so, might be the way to go for me too.

I have some reservations... I mean, what $1000 product has ever sounded as good as a $3500 product before? I've always noticed at least a BIT of sound quality difference between MOTL or BOTL and TOTL products by just about ANY manufacturer. Be nice if there weren't, and possibly, as Roland actually no longer have a MOTL or TOTL line, at least they aren't scavenging their own sales, but I will be surprised and pleased if it sounds as good as an E80...

I would still like to see Markers added for SMF's, and a Chord Sequencer. For people that use it to back themselves on other instruments - MIDI guitar, for instance, that's even MORE important than for the keyboard players, in a way.

I still think for the 'pure' arranger player, it's a toss-up, but for those with TOTL WS's, this is the way to get REAL arranger capabilities tacked onto what they already do well. And the price is right, no doubt about it.
