I watched this twice and each time I saw it I became more emotional. Guess I'm just an old softy.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did,

Gary cool

That's awesome, brings back memories. So much talent, so many good laughs.

It's sad we have to ask... Where ARE the clowns?

Great stuff, Gary...brought more than one tear to my eyes...Red Skelton was a real favorite of mine, as was Donald O'Connor and Danny Kaye.

Thanks for the memories...

Gary, This has to be one of your finest posts. Years back I sang the song at a wedding, It was always a special singer's song. Your post just gave the song a full meaning, I became sad when watching. That time was my time.
Thanks, John C.

The world is a better place for knowing these artisans. They had talent and a class, we may never see again; lets hope we never forget them.

Interesting video cool . Some I didn't recognize, so it was great to see their names displayed and be able to conveniently look them up on Wikipedia. Odd thing is that Orson Wells said something to the effect like 'they aren't around anymore', but a least one of those comedians featured, like Carol Burnett, are actually still alive. I certainly wouldn't appreciate being labeled dead before my time. frown

You know you're the oldest geezer on the board when you recognize each and every one of the clownish entertainers and artists depicted in this fantastic video. What a gem of a performance by Frank. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, that's true...he was ahead of Pee Wee...still, one can nearly be certain that Pee Wee modeled himself after Pinky...there are many similarities.

I remember Egar behind the 8 ball to start his 15 minute skit at the movies in 1847. What about the three stooges. They were jewish from what I understand and they did a skit on Hitler. I'll never forget it. What about Lucy? Did I miss these guys? I was bent down low to the laptop trying to hear the song at the same time as watching at a noisy coffee shop.
