I just got a new SD1-Plus a few days ago and couldn't help notice all the recent chatter concerning the new SD5 keyboard. I went with the SD1-Plus because of it's 76 note keyboard.

I can't help but notice some really cool features that the SD5 has and don't really know enough about my SD1-Plus to know if there are ways to get my SD1-Plus to do similar kool tricks like the SD5. I really can't afford both keyboards, so I would appreciate any information or comparisons between the two models.

Is Ketron working on a new OS for the SD1-Plus that would make it more SD5 like?

Hi,
the SD1+ is actually the top of the line model, though I think it's been out for quite a while now. I got mine last xmas.
It hasn't been replaced yet.

You could download the sd5 manual & do a comparison of the features. http://www.ketron.it/prodotti/index.asp?idTipo=2

You may find the sd5 has some functions the sd1+ doesn't & vice versa.

best wishes

It's strange, but whatever side of the fence we are,
the grass is always greener at the other side. LOL

Thank you for your response. I think looking over the manual is an excellent idea. Thank you for the link for the SD5 manual and it should point out the differences between the models.

Hi Jonny ,
how true. I think quite a few of us must be like that or we wouldn't keep swapping keyboards. haahaa

Merry Xmas to you also.

Hi,
basically how I decided whether to buy the Midjay or the SD1+. Went thru the functions & features & decided the sd1+ was better suited for my needs overall, even though midjay had some functions I would have liked.
