Hi Bebop, would luv a motorhome. ( you lucky thing ). Unfortunately hubby's confined permanently to a wheelchair, so not the most practical form of holidaying for us. We basically have to motel it, or use one of our timeshare weeks.
More & more Aussies seem to be taking to the roads again though, we're starting to see quite a few motorhomes nowadays, plus caravans are back on the roads again.

Hi Nigel, parents live in Blackburn. Weather was great considering it's mid winter. Think we'll have to stay away from the place, everytime we go down something goes wrong with him. Poor fella , spent all but a couple of days in bed. I think he's jinxed. Nice to get back home in one piece. haa haa. best wishes Rikki Originally posted by Nigel: Enjoy your stay in Melbourne Rikki. It's my hometown so I know it well. What part of Melbourne are you staying in?
It will most likely be cold, wet and windy this time of year, not particularly inviting. But there are lots of good restaurants there to take shelter in.

Hi Scott, I live near the mid northcoast of Australia. Winter where we live is between 60 to 80 deg fahrenheit, summer 80 to 100 deg. ( north is hotter, south is colder.)
Today ( mid winter at home) the sun is shining, the birds are singing and it's a balmy 75 deg.
Last Xmas was hot, it reached about 100 deg.
Australia is well worth a visit. Exchange rate is great. You get about $1.30 AUD for $1USD , so your money goes further. Allow yourself plenty of time because, as Nigel mentioned, the place is huge & there's lots to see. We even speak English, even though you might need the odd translation for some of our Aussie slang haa haa.
best wishes Rikki
