I just had word from Dan O'Neil owner of Keyboard City in Baltimore that he will be shipping my new Tyros 2 and I will have it in my recording studio Tuesday or Wednesday of next week, Nov 1st or second.
Life is good
Thanks Dan for staying on top of our orders
Best to you from all of your customers

Nice to hear that Bebop.
My Tyros 2 should be with me in a couple of weeks. Went for the one with the stand and speakers since it looks cool. Also getting a USB stick with it with loads of converted styles from other manufacturers and an 80GB hard drive. Can't wait, yippeeeeeee.

Craig,
Congrats on your new keyboard. I am sure you and I and all the others will be super pleased with it.
Let us know how you are doing with it and what you think of it, once you have been able to spend some time on it
Best regards,

Hey John and Trevor,
You guys in UK are really at an advantage over us here in the states.
I am supposed to get mine on Tuesday or Wednesday, I hope although Dan wrote this morning that he was getting a one day delay so we will also. Darn

I sure hope that this will include me...
I've just talked to DanO this morning and he told me that he has 14 orders for Tyros2 however he will only get seven for now.
I have already paid in full some time ago to be on the first receipients list...
but he told me he doesn't know now when we will see them...

...keeping my fingers crossed

Dan sent me an email on 10/26 stating he would have more info for me (about my order) on 10/27. I didn't hear back from him. So, I sent him another email on Monday morning 10/31. He still hasn't replied.

Now I read your post here and it sounds like Dan doesn't have any Tyros2 keyboards yet, and isn't going to be able to get enough to fulfill his orders.

I sure hope he will be contacting those of us that put down large deposits and let us know exactly what's going on.

The title of this thread is
My New Tyros 2 is in the mail(it obviously is not)
It seems that Dan has only just got them from Yamaha maybe???
According to your post Dan has not even got them yet

MY new Tyros was shipped today the same day that Dan received it from Yamaha. Dan did not delay the shipment. UPS is supposed to deliver it Friday. That makes it two days later then Dan had hoped for based on what Yamaha was telling him.
So, whats the big deal? It gets here when it gets here.
I may not be here on Friday to receive it so it may be Monday before it is delivered to me.

According to DanO he should be getting them today. That's what he has told me yesterday. The only problem is that he'll be getting only 7 out of 14 ordered.
So I am assuming and expecting that since I have paid in full some time ago for the keyboard, I will be one of the first receipients...

Pleaseeee let it be so.....

On 09/28/05 when I spoke to Dan, he told me that I was #8 on his confirmed order list and that was the number of actual keyboards he was getting from Yamaha. He said I would be the last one to get one of his first group of keyboards. That is what sold me, and why I agreed to put down a 50% deposit.

If I knew this was not the case, I probably would have checked with other dealers. The reason I went with Dan was his assurance that I would receive my Tyros 2 early on, and his reputation here. Dan emailed me this morning and explained he had overlooked my earlier emails. Dan now tells me I'm #9 on his order list. I'm not sure how that happened. And, the next shipment to him might be the 3rd week in November. If that is the case, maybe I will get mine in December.

DanO just sent me another email. Apparently Yamaha, in their wisdom, has decided to send him only 5 of the original 10 keyboards Dan ordered. Dan thinks Yamaha may have shipped some of his keyboards to other stores. I guess Yamaha could care less about its loyal, long-term customers and to them, a sale is a sale, regardless of where they get it.

So, I will just have to wait along with Dan and others to see what and when Yamaha might come through. It's very annoying. But, not really DanO's fault. I asked him to contact Yamaha and make a plea on my behalf (and his other early buyers). We'll see what happens, if Yamaha can show some customer appreciation.

DanO, thank you for being honest and up front. I really appreciate it. It's the whole Tyros2 hype that makes everyone go nuts and occasionally wine a little once we see others getting them

I will just patiently wait for my Tyros2 and in the mean time enjoy my PA1X Pro

Thanks again, and thank you for prompt delivery of my PA1X Pro

Thanks for the offer, Bebop. That would mean I would have to tear you away from it somehow! I am hoping DanO might be able to persuade Yamaha to be more forthcoming and honor these orders that were placed in September. It's worth a try!

I'm one of the other guys waiting for a T2 from DanO. Actually, I placed my order very early on, receiving a confirmation of the purchase from Dan on 9/21. He told me then that I was either fourth or fifth on the list. Since then, he's told me on the phone that I'm now 6th and things are very much up in the air and he still doesn't know what to expect in terms of keyboards he can ship out. This is a bummer for everyone. Weird stuff can happen when demand outstrips supply for things people want a lot. Well, good luck to Dan and the those of us waiting for the new toy. Cheers, DerfM

It would appear on the surface that it is all going tits up with DanO everybody seems to have been promised the same thing and and different thing all at the same time and now it would seem he cannot deliver.
This is one of the dangers of putting all your eggs in one basket and money up front for the launch of a new keyboard which never go to plan, far better to keep your options open.
I have felt that too much emphasis has been given to Dano as a dealer on here over the T2 and that maybe people would have been better off shopping around other dealers because this forum is not the exclusive outlet for one dealer

Johnnie, things like that happen all the time, and in DanO's case... Yamaha didn't deliver... It's not his fault, and I'm sure he is just as upset as we are. He's in the business to sell, but if the supplier promises something and can't deliver... we can't blame the seller. But I sure blame Yamaha.
I hope somebody from Yamaha would read this, 'cause I want my Tyros2 and I want it NOW

DanO, we're with you and I know as soon as you get them we will be enjoying them in our homes

cheers,

ccdmax

P.S. I've placed the order with DanO on 10/04

OK thats fair enough but after all he is the person that is supplying you and others on this forum which makes him responsible after all he is the person that has taken your money.
How does it make you feel then that there are a lot of people already in the USA that have and are enjoying their T2 I suggest you don't feel very happy.
I still say that it is wrong that Dano should be getting exclusive selling rights on this forum mainly propagated by third parties.
I wish you luck and sincerely hope that you will soon receive your keyboard

Hello...............I feel your pain too! I'm another of DanO's "early" customers. Of course I am disapponted I won't be playing my new Tyros2 this weekend, but at least Dan has good communication skills. It's funny..........Lately when I play my PSR3000 each evening it has been sounding better and better!! It must know something??? -charley

Hey Johnie C,

I think most customers would say they saved up to 20% or more by trusting me with their order.

Walk into a store in California and pay
8.75 % in state taxes. Ordering online, they save the 8.75% and get the discount too !

Florida State Tax is 7% , New York is over 7% ( I believe).... Saving that tax money on high value products, is definately a factor when making a buying decision.

Cheers.... Dan O'

Dan. . .

You certainly convinced me. The UPS truck pulled up a short while ago to unload my new T2. Based on my conversations with some other folks looking for a T2, the deal you've offered us here at Synthzone is unbeatable as far I can tell. I hope Yamaha cooperates by getting you the keyboards you need. Thanks again. No complaints from me. By the way, I've only had a few minutes to fire it up, but it sounds great so far (very much in the Yamaha tradition, only things sound better).

Dan
I saw your earlier message before you changed the whole thing.
Stage managed I'm afraid
first it is 15% now it's 20% how about 30%
Dan you are not exclusive as far as the discount is concerned plenty of discounting going on 0 to 20% by a lot of retailers keen to shift the units like you with limited amounts at their disposal all keen to supply.Just shows how overpriced the keyboard is in the first place.

Dan

Did you call Yamaha and put any pressure on them about their failure to fulfill your confirmed, prepaid advance orders?

What is the date that Yamaha says you will have your next shipment?

A couple of other dealers told me they are getting shipment #2 next week.

Please let us know.
