first impression is i wish i had got my old SD1 repaired.
Don't get me wrong I'm a long time Solton/Ketron fan as far back as an MS5(briefly)to an MS50 and a Korg i3,that was the hot setup of the day, passed on the X1 and then came the SD1 and that made it possible to retire the Korg and use only one Keyboard.
I'm really really struggling to get my sound back. A lot has changed sound wise and pattern wise. My old SD1 was believe it or not still on version 1A, i know everybody laughed when i told them, but it sounded great bit sharp maybe but i like it that way.
So I've spent the last two days setting the SD1+ up and last night was it;s first gig and
well it's back to the drawing board for me.
I do the hotel circuit here so I've used the SD1 for the last 5 years or so, 5 and 6 nights a week every week so maybe I'm just to used to it but a lot of the stock patterns have changed and not for the better to my ears.
Anyway sorry to ramble just needed to vent a we bit
Cheers
Sandy

Hi Sandy...

Biggest change I noticed between the 2 are the choice of guitar sounds used within the patterns... I changed all of the guitar sound choices on virtually all patterns...
Increased volumne levels in the patterns as well.

Former SD1 demo guy ..

Hi Dan
Yep, You re right on the money had to change most of the guitar's, alter a lot of the balance within tracks but i suppose that's all part of setting up a new keyboard.
I had a good chance to listen to it on Monday night's gig and my biggest concern now is the sound.
Compared to the SD1 it sounds a lot more mellow, I'm thinking mushy but i know that's not right because its not that,to my ears the SD1 sounds more sort of jingly fresher sound without being to sharp..anyway i did a hard reset this morning so back to square one.
The funny thing is i did a blind A B
comparison with the same style for my wife and she chose the SD1 each time, that's progress for you.
Right back to the keyboard for me and i know I'm probably quite late to the party here but thanks for the reply
speak to you soon
Sandy

To get the SD1 SOUND AND STYLES on the SD1 Plus ...

* You will need to obtain the files in the RELOAD folder (Folder 90) of the original SD1.
* Install OS 4.0c ORIGINAL (NOT Standard).

That's it.

Thanks,

AJ

PS: If you have the regular SD1 and you updated to the plus and you want to go back, simply install OS 4.0C ORIGINAL and reload the files from FOLDER 90 (RELOAD).

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

AJ
