I check in every now and then, and I'm seeing a lot of people complaining about Ketron. Is the company going under or something?

You mean even if you call the head office needing assistance, you can't get it?

What is going on?

You are right, something seems to be very wrong.
Emails I sent are not answered, promised updates never come. Not even AJ has answers.... we just don't know what is going on.

Not really... a very large and silent majority are very happy with the SD1.

Just bought a PSR 3000 and think that it doesn't even come close to the build quality
and sound of even my old MS 60. It's unfortunate that some have issues with Ketron respnse, but, like Glenn said, there is a large group of Ketron users who would never be satisfied with any other brand.

I visited with AJ at NAMM, and he was gracious and helpful. I trust him and am planning a Ketron purchase this month. I am on the fence about purchasing two "furniture type" SD-1's for restaurants I work in. While I don't expect any problems, I worry about shipping them back for repairs.

GlennT,

An interesting point :
How large is the majority that has no complains at all? It would be nice all SD1 owners would post and give their opinion about Ketron.

Please remember soo many players telling the latency is way to long since OS4.0x.

Please remember many players having trouble with dropping notes (bass or drum sounds) while playing styles or midifiles.

Please remember customers telling there are some incomplete/faulty styles.

Please remember Ketron promising the OS4.0c to be release 'soon'. (12 months ago)

It looks like I'm the only one 'begging'for support, but many forum-members mail me and tell they think the same.

Sure, the SD1 is superb sounding, especially with the corrections programmed in version Bèta 4.0c...... but it is just not finished yet!
I hope the SD1 will be my 'partner' for another 3 or 4 years.

So, please Ketron product owners : tell us what you think.

Roel

Hi all!

I am really amazed about the fact that nobody speaks about XD9 and XD3!! It seems that these products are totaly forgotten by its producer. I own an XD3 for more than 2 years and the latest OS upgrade is already 2 years old!!! When we will see a new release? Nobody knows!! I have a long list of bugs for the 2.0b Xd3 O.S. but I don't post it because nobody cares anyway. I was really keen to see and buy the new module "Midijay" but I rather stik to my XD3 bugs. I am very sorry for Ketron as I really like the sounds and styles, but unfortunatelly this is not enough to make me buy any new Ketron product.

Flavie,

Could you please list some of your concerns/buggs that you've discovered on the Ketron XD-series?

Thanks for your assistance.

Heeeey This is a surprise!!!
Thank you AJ! You really surprised me! I will try to mention what the main problems
are:
1. In midifile player, when polyphony is full the BASS notes are droped!!! this is very anoying.
2. since the last update, I cannot record songs using the stiles and the recorder. It rarely works and when it works the dynamic and groove of the song is very flat. I cannot understand why. I am performing with AX7 and I use many midifiles. Also I like to record my own sequences using the recorder, but it don't help me at all. 3.Also when I use a performance ( I forgot to say that I am using also the video card and a TFT screen to display the lyrics) with the lyrics on txt file, and then I use a Karaoke file, after I select a sound and I press EXIT, the karaoke lyrics are mixed with the previouse ones that I had on txt file, making the current lyrics totaly unreadable. And that is only on the big screen and not on the modules LCD.
4. In the song edit menu I cannot mute tracks!! In fact I cannot edit any of the filters that are availlable for editing. Is quite crazy because I am able to edit everything but when I save, it saves only the sounds, volumes, pan, effects, and transpose settings. Actually only what is on the first page of the song editor. If then I load a diffrent midifile, the song editor keeps the same setings as I did for the prevoiuse song!!!!! Is incredible I know but it is true. I need either to manually reset all the edited filters, or to reboot the module.
5. Quite frequently, durring a midifile playing the module stops and shows the well known " I/O disk error" message.

I think is enough for the moment! However these problems I use to post many times in the past two years.
Thank you for showing your interest !
Flavie.
