Not that I'm thinking of trading my Tyros 2 for an PSR 910, but I'm just curious what keyboard you think is better and way. I would guess that both instruments cost about the same now. Sorry if this has come up before- I'm new here.

Thanks!

Just off the top of my heard, the biggest difference, for me, is that the S910 is using the new guitar mode in the styles, as also featured on the Tyros3.

Any new styles will be using this format.

The physical differences are obvious, the S910 being lighter, with built in speakers, and also using the new screen as featured on the T3.

T2's key-bed has after-touch, the keys are semi-weighted, one more pedal input, three voice layering on the RH.

The S910 will play all the Tyros2's styles without conversion...it will also play the Tyros3 styles with a few tweaks...the T2 won't even load them in.

I like the S910 for it's compactness and the convenience of the built in speakers...I don't need 3 voice layering in the RH...two is fine for my needs.

The S910 will play MP3 files.

I'm sure there will be other comments, so I'll leave it at that.

Does the T3 play mp3 also like the S910?

No, the T3 does not play MP3...as far as I know, the S910 is the first Yamaha arranger to play MP3 (it also plays Wav).

Mind you, it records only in Wav, and you must convert to MP3 in your PC.

Wow, $3599 T3 and it doesn't play mp3's. I always found that the flagship Yamaha arrangers were too pricey and the s900/s910 are the BEST bang for the buck. S910 has many of the T2 features and almost $2000 cheaper at the time.

I'm still loving my s900!!

Yamaha sometimes adds a new feature on an MOTL arranger that follows a flagship model.

When the Tyros1 came out, first there was a stop gap model, the PSR-2100, and it was followed by the even newer PSR-3000, which had a USB port to save and load data...the Tyros only had the floppy disk.

So, the Tyros2 that followed came with a USB port(actually two).

Next we have the S900, which I would call a stop gap model (although a very nice one), and following that, we have the even newer S910 (more like the T2 and bits of the T3 added), which has MP3 capability and which is not on the T3).

If the pattern continues, the Tyros4 will have an MP3 player (maybe even two).

I'm totally tickled with my S910...it's quite a bargain, and I love bargains.

I'm not sure if the MP3 capability can be added to the Tyros3's operating system with an upgrade...if it can be, maybe an MP3 player will be implemented.
