I'm this much from throwing this thing out the window..I have no patience !!!! Argggg I'm getting the midi signal from KB to VR it lights up....but maybe not the right channel or settings?.....I'm getting harmony but it won't change with the chords or show in the display.

I believe the styles transmit on 5 or 6 channels at once like they do on the Tyros. 9-16 Set the digitech to recieve omni or on channel 12/13 The STYLE chord transmits on those channels.

See FUNCTION/MIDI/ Tab over to TRANSMIT and scroll down to Style Chord(there are two.)Set the Digitech to recieve on those channels

Ok as usual I'm again in debt with
"MR WIZARD" Gary Diamond.....all is well & it sounds great now it was just a minor Midi setting on the S900 set to KBD/STYLE (transmitting on Ch2) that made the difference....I enjoy using this VR unit much more then the TC Helicon M I used to have ...it just works better for me & is easier to operate.

Thanks Gary, You Da man!!

Donny, is it the old VR unit from late 1999?

What made you change back in time to this over the Harmony M?

Dennis...

Yes the 1999 VR unit, the Harmony M unit was too quirky for my needs it didnt recognize chords the way I needed vs my vocals...& a pain to edit on the fly.
The VR of which I have used many of them is a better vocal tracking unit IMO, smoother harmonies & is super easy to change from duo/trio/quartet, etc, etc, on the fly....The M only allows two extra voices.

Okay cool.
Thanks Donny. I was just curious is all.

The new 1.8 OS for the harmony M improves chord recognition by nearly 60%, so it's working a lot better now.

But you are right, it IS a bit (LOT) fiddly to program "as you play". Although 2 voices is okay for me.

LOL, and in any case, pretty much anything is better than the one Yamaha provides hey?

hey Dennis.....I tried it for a while & that's all I could do......no biggie just another piece of gear. If your referring to the Yamaha Kazoo VH on all their arrangers you are correct.....they should leave the mic processor ....but remove the VH and use that research & money to improve features people are requesting on their next models if they release any in the future.Meanwhile I'm glad there are alternatives to use....good luck with your music.

D.
