Hi Guy`s ,

Where I didn`t feel like going out tonight to look for a new USB drive, I thought I would try this with the one that won`t do the T-3 upgrade.

I put the Scat voices plus the library file onto my USB drive and plug it into my T-3.

OK , I was able to go to individual load and transfer ALL 5 voices to the expansion file of my T-3.

I`m not supposed to able to do this , but it happened.

How to they sound ?

Like crap . in fact 2 of them sound the same.

Are they supposed to sound like an ordinary Yamaha scat voice ?

Or better ?

Or is it looking for 1.02 and is giving me the best it can ?

OK I am really confused.

After removing my USB drive , the voices are now gone.

But I watched them load from the USB drive to the T-3.

( enter Twilight Zone music )

This is nut`s !!

Back to the drawing board !!

I will say that's odd you got those scat voices to load though.

Strange , would be a gross understatement !

They load only when the USB drive is plugged in.

BUT , they are saved , But not saved.

Time to get out the Scotch !! LOL

But there is a problem there too , I don`t drink !!

I ended up reseting and deleting the Scat`s , they just didn`t sound right and would not save.

I even made a folder on the HD , and they would have to load each time from the HD to use them.

It needs the upgrade , but how ????????

PREVIOUSLY POSTED 'The above files are around 10mb each and
require winzip to unzip them.
Also the Scat Voices will only work with the above new firmware installed i.e. Version 1.02'

Gary,
Some of the mods in the new OS were to take care of bugs affecting some custom voices - I know some of mine wouldn't work correctly and I assume the Scats suffered from the same effects like- failure for some elements to trigger via velocity and exaggerated envelopes making them unusable.
Apart from that, as far as I know they may still have been loadable, even with the old OS.
These samples are pretty old and seem messed up setting wise, and lack oomph, so IMO you're unlikely to be (favourably) impressed even when you get the new OS installed.
If you want to improve them and hear a demo refer to my thread Journey into Scats on YPKO.
But don't expect top notch 21st century vocals
