Gary or Don,
On the Bose website they talk about placing the Bose PAS about 5 feet behind you and slightly to the side. What do you do if you don't have that 5 feet behind you? Is that a real problem?

Hammer, I've used the Bose in tight space and found that even 1 to 1.5 feet behind me and slightly to the right by about 2 feet worked.

Stephen,
Glad to hear that because I have several venues that are large enough for a good PA system but they don't have a lot of setup room for the entertainers.

Hammer...
I rarely have that much space BEHIND me. I, most often, place the Bose about 4-5 feet to my left and just a tad behind me....even on humongous stages. You can rely on, at least, 180 degree dispersion of the sound and what the audience will hear.

You can put it darn near anywhere as long as you can hear it. You rarely have the ideal situation.

I second that!

Geez - as a duo, we often put it between us (and slightly in front) not as good sound as behind you (8-9 feet we find ideal on big loud gigs) but you still hear everything (especially vocals) great!

Look, if I had my choice I'd put it behind us everytime "by the book" so to speak, but often you can't, and that's fine - anywhere is good.

Don't lose sleep over it.

Hammer,

There are times when I'm set up so tight that I can reach out and touch the tower on my right--and I've never had a problem with feedback, even with the tower that close.

The best place to located it is where you feel comfortable with. It will always come through for you.

Cheers,

Gary

It would be nice as an alternative that you could also use only ONE tower pole in very small venues with the same quality as with TWO stacked..

Brian......of course you can do it BUT I was under the impression that you would only have more of a MID Frequency sound very the TOP pole....I never tried it when I had the PAS....hope to hear more form users regarding this.

I gotta confess, I thought much of the over the top praise for this unit was hyperbole, exaggeration, etc.

Trying it the other day for the first time up against the Fishman was an eye opener. It was as jaw dropping for me as was the first time I tried a Tyros arranger...

I think it takes quite a bit musically for me to be stunned, but I still can't get over it.

The things those cats can do with speakers & cabinets at Bose is really something...

Can't wait to get one...
