Hi
Can anyone shed any light on the difference between the 2x pro styles and the 1x pro.
Are they new styles or are they the same ones but improved?
If they are the same... have they added any new ones?
I had a 1x pro which I loved apart from the limited chice of styles i/m/o .....for my type of music (country/ballads/rock/singalong)
I felt there was not enough choice for this type of music.
Is the new pa2x that much better overall and can you get a significant amount of very high standard styles from 3rd party.
Any help would be appreciated as I now have a Tyros 2 and have been waiting as we all have for the release of the "Audya" but I want to get one while I can still carry it!!!
I would go for Tyros 3 but I really miss having a 76 note keyboard.
Thanks folks...... John.

Hi John,
I never owned a PA1X. I have a PA800 . There was a download available at korg forums of pa1x styles that weren't on the PA800/PA2x. From memory, well over 100 of them. I'm assuming that they must have changed a number of the styles.

Problem is I've got all of my user styles on the XRM database, and I can't be sure which were original factory styles & which are user styles I downloaded from elsewhere.
I've got roughly 300 to 400 .
Have you thought about comparing the style list between the 2 keyboards. The PA2x manual can be downloaded from the Korg site.

best wishes
Rikki

Hi Rikki
I actually had the opportunity to play the pax 2 today ... and while I was impressed withe the sounds (especially the piano) I found the styles were almost identical to the pax 1 .... very few new ones ... but they do sound better... I suppose because of the effects and guitar programming.
Best wishes ...John

John,
many original PA1X styles have been revoiced and take advantage of the new guitar mode to add realism to the guitar tracks; Korg is actually realeasing new styles every month.
That said, I think that the main reason to choose a PA2X over a PA1X are not the styles, but features like the double polyphony, the greatly increased RAM and so on.
Good luck with your choice.

Hi John,
that's strange. Maybe the PA1X styles I downloaded weren't all factory styles?
A lot of them sound similar to my PA800 styles, but they're certainly not identical.

Anyway , good luck which ever way you decide to go.
