Has anyone heard the Powered sub SB2A with the ZX1-90?
Stopped into a local "DJ" sound and light place here in LI. They carry only "High" end speaker lines, EV being one of them. The above is one combination you can use. The SB2a is a powered sub with two internal 350w amps. One drives the 12" sub speaker the other drives the ZX1-90 (8" w/1" horn/driver). Besides the fact they sound great the sub weighs only 35 lbs. and the satelite 18 lbs.!! You can pole mount the ZX1-90 on the sub. Cost SB2A $995.00 ZX1-90 $275.00. http://www.electrovoice.com/productfamilies/59.html http://www.electrovoice.com/productfamilies/52.html

Hi JCkeeys:

I have been using the ZX1-90s for over a year, I have 2 pairs, GREAT speakers !!, I did recommended them to a colleague of mine and he also got them, he got the passive subs that also have the pole for the 90's.

I use the Roland KCW1 powered sub, that gives me independent control on volume and also how much "Cut", this combination works for me VERY well.
I did replaced my Yamaha's Sm12 V, one of this weights more that 2 of my ZX1-90s. I did compare them side to side, to ME, is amazing how an 8' woofer gives so much sound ALMOST like the 12's in the Yamaha's, anyway, that's why I also had the Roland active subwoofer.
I will check the SB2a, 350w vs the KXW1 200w, I need to hear that. THank you for the update ! ;o)
