Hi All

Time is running out on www.ArrangerWorld.com

In July of 2008, our hosting agreement expires and we are trying to decide if we should renew or not. Do you want to see ArrangerWorld continue? Please log on to our site and Vote Yes or No. Remember, ArrangerWorld was designed to give you a community to share information, styles, articles, classifieds, demos, and more. It is different from other sites in that it is more interactive.

If not enough YES votes are counted the ArrangerWorld site will be taken down permanently. Also, if we do keep the site up, but you do not respond to the survey and havent participated in the past 6 months your User ID will be deleted from the system.

If you have voted already, thank you!

Thanks for your support
Al www.arrangerworld.com

Everyone should go and vote YES !!!! Arranger keyboard resources online are so rare and Al has put together a fantastic arranger resource. Don't let it fade away through lack of interest. It would be a loss to us all.

Thanks for the reminder, Nigel. I posted my plea as it would, indeed, be a shame to lose the resource. I have to remember to get outside the zone occasionally.

Thanks for the support everyone and thanks for taking the time to reach out and leave a note at AW.

I know there are so many boards, forums, and websites to visit it's impossible to keep up with them all. And that's exactly the issue I'm trying to address with AW. My vision is to consolidate lot's of data from many different sources at AW and use it as a point of reference.

So I ask, if you come across an interesting article, website, style file, midi file, or other keyboard related bit of information that you think your fellow musicians would benefit from, please stop by and take the time to post it; yourself!

I'm trying my best to keep the site current, but it is a tremendous amount of work for one individual who is a gigging musician with a full-time day job.

This site is my way of giving back to the keyboard community and I hope you can find a small way to do so too!

Warm Regards,
Al

Al,
I don't recall when you started this but I also don't recall seeing any PR work done on it until now. It takes a lot of time, and PR to it going. It just doesn't happen for no reason other then you want it to.
I started the Technics forum several years ago just using email, until I got so many members I couldn't keep up. I ask Nigel to give me the unused technics forum he had here in the synthzone, he did and I moderated it for the next two or three years doing PR work for it every day.
Look at it now.
You have to be willing to put in the time and effort into promoting the site and not just in creating it. It is a love of labor and takes a lot of it.
I will continue posting there as long as you keep it up. I hope others will start posting there and not just posting here in this thread.
One last thought. If it is to be an Arranger site the it should have an exciting arranger picture and article on the log in page and not a workstation keyboard.
Best to you and all members here and there.

HI Bebop

All great points. I usually rotate the topic and pictures on the home page especially when there is no news with Arranger keyboards. The logic being that arranger players also love other keyboards and equipment.

I sort of hesitate to market the site on forums and boards like this because I don't want to offend Nigel and the members here with gratuitous advertising.

But, I will find other ways to do it. Your point is WELL taken!

Regards,
Al

Hi Al,
I don't think Nigel would be encouraging us to Vote "YES" if he had a problem with you mentioning your forum.

Even if maybe some other sites may not approve of you actively promoting ??
you could always pop a link under your signature.

I was going to try & pop a direct link to the Style & Arrangement section of the forum
( which you were kind enough to make me moderator of) but I ended up with http://www.arrangerworld.com/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=9&CAT_ID=1&Forum_Title=Style+and+Arrangement+Forum
which is a few too many letters to attach to my signature.

Some things I'm just plain dumb with
( including Smiley's) but would anyone know a way of shortening it..

best wishes
Rikki

It is hard to get users to be active ....You probably get a lot of traffic like I do , but not too many decide to stay and visit for a "spell"...

Don't give it up yet !! It just takes time and most important, creativity..

I do not know if you have noticed, but I try to give you "frontpage " at least twice a month..

Our sites, along with "SZ", do complement each other quite well and it would be a loss if you decide to "pull the plug"

I fully encourage you to keep reminding the forum members here about great resources like http://www.arrangerworld.com and http://createsongstyles.com In fact I have these websites linked on multiple pages around Synth Zone so people searching for resources here can find them.

Please do post on the forum here whenever you have any new added resources, and even just to remind people. I'll never be offended. Synth Zone is all about encouraging other keyboard websites.

Rikki you can shorten it to http://www.arrangerworld.com/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=9&CAT_ID=1

But I do notice you do have to be logged in already for it to take you there.

Nigel:
Thank you for the gracious offer to promote the site. I agree that these three sites complement each other well. There are many keyboard specific sites out there and I wanted ArrangerWorld to cater to ALL keyboards. Even interesting workstations, piano's, and organs. I didn't want to be brand specific.

Also, many time folks here are challenged sharing their music, pictures, midi files, and styles and have NO place to upload them. You can upload all your files over at AW and then share the links with each other.

Lastly, I have had lots of issues with members logging in, losing passwords, etc. and I was wondering if I should just open membership to any and everyone who comes buy just to make it a more pleasant experience. The only downside is that everyone would be considered a GUEST and we wouldn't build a community with personal contact. I struggle with this issue alot.

Leeboy: Did you register "leeboy" as your user id? If so, I will reset your password and mail it to you so that you can try to login again. I get so many emails it may have been inadvertently deleted.

Regards,
Al

NO!
with open enrollment you will completely loose control, and the members will loose the comfort of the envirement.
Even here Nigel has a full time job controlling the jerks and flakes that come in here and try to ruin things for the MEMBERS.
You would also loose the sense of community because we would all be guests and not members.
Guests don't much care what they do or say but members don't normally crap in their own club. (at least not very long)

I don't remember my userID. When I tried to re-register it said my e-mail kc9cdt@aol.com was already used.

Maybe you can just delete my current account?

Hi Al,
thanks for posting the 2 styles I sent thru for the PA800 , so quickly.
I tried sending the PA800 Guitar Mode Rhumba thru the other day.
Finally worked out what I'd done wrong.

So anyway, Al's got the the Guitar Mode Rhumba, & also I converted a psr 12/8 ballad to PA800 format, rerecorded the guitar arpeggio track with a guitar mode track.

Rikki,

I was hoping you would figure it out. If you couldn't, no one else would have been able to! ;-)

Hi Al,
haven't you spotted my tutorial of sorts
(needs a bit of fine tuning)haa haa on the site http://www.arrangerworld.com/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=9&CAT_ID=1&Forum_Title=Style+and+Arrangement+Forum

Honestly if you use acoustic guitars
( steel, nylon, folk ) you couldn't find an easier way of creating a guitar strum. And you don't have the hassles of Note Transpostion Tables, Chord types etc
A guitar mode strumming track is almost fool proof. Shame i'm just not a bit more musical. haa haa

best wishes
Rikki

I just uploaded an MP3 song created on the Roland E 80 for the 4th time and once again the site kicked me out on completion of the upload. the song is a 7 MB and MP3 and was uploaded to the correct location.
I am done. Let me know when you have this software working

Not to hijack the tune, Bebop, but you can always post at Roland-arranger while they sort things out...
