The assumption is that keys/action of the Juno Stage 76 are the same as a Juno G...wouldn't one actually have to try it out to know that little tidbit of info?

AFAIK it's not on the shelves yet.

The Juno G does have a decent keybed, I know 'cause I actually played one...but if they are going with a 76'er, they should at least make the action a little less wimpy...obviously the instrument is designed for users that will want to use it as a piano.

I hope they don't use the Juno G's action...a bad move, in my opinion.

Ian

Currently I shlep a Yamaha S80 and a Hammond XK3 around to gigs. Its getting old (then again, so am I...). If I could find a single, lightweight keyboard that covers all needed sounds and can do multiple splits, etc. I may enjoy gigging again. The 76 keys is a nice compromise. My S80 barely fits in my vehicle, but 61 keys doesn't quite cover it.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but for me, this keyboard just might do the trick.

Trust me,.. you're not in the minority.

76 keys is a compromise, but a worthwhile compromise when you compare it against 61 keys. And manufacturers are starting to make their 76 key Stage Pianos, Arrangers, and traditional Workstations lighter and that is very encouraging, especially when one gets up in age.

I heard demos of the Juno-Stage and I must say the ac piano sounds great. As far as the other sounds e.g. Organ, Strings, Woodwind, and Brass, etc., it's too early to say until demos on the some of the other sounds are released. But you're right.. it just may be your ticket to gigging freedom with it's possible all inclusive solution.

Best,
Mike

I have been told the keys are better than the Juno G..They are similar to the E-60..

After playing the new RD700/300 GX boards (liked a lot)..including the MP3 playback..I will check the Juno Stage out for sure..

I had the Juno G, and there seems to be many improvements with the Juno Stage..

If needed the Juno's work ok playing splits bass/piano with drum patterns and even arpeggio to keep it interesting..Not as versatile as an arranger ...but still workable..

The Juno Stage is 2 inches deeper than the Juno G..so it has been reworked..housing and keybed..

The Juno Stage will have a semi-weighted pro keybed.

Well then, let's get that sucker on the market and let us tear it up. Having just sold my SP2 I'm stupid enough to go looking
at/for another keyboard. ...Why do I keep doing this to myself???

Now this is really stupid... I just quoted my own post by mistake. Took it off and left this.

BTW, has anyone heard KT Tunsall in concert? I'm probably going next month and have no idea what to expect.
I wanted to see Bonnie Raitt, but got outvoted.

Not my genre', but doesn't matter. I've reached an age or stage where I'm just not interested in anybody under 30, especially those created by and for, and in, the YouTube/MTV generation. Guess that makes me officially an ol' fart.

As far as being dragged to this concert, that's what happens when you give wives the right to vote.

I'll watch any singer/songwriter any time, any place, any age. KT is actually quite good from the few things I've heard. (my daughter infiltrates my iPod!)
