Hi - I've been doing alot of work on styles for S900. Modifying many (most) of the on-board ones to suit my particular needs / playing method better.

I have added the letters "JL" (my initials) to each style name and save these to my USB memory stick. I notice that there are extra numbers added on, for example:
6-8AcousticPop
is now:
6-8AcousticPop-JL.S850.STY

All the styles I create have this happen, each with a
different ".Snnn" added to the style file name.

The "JL" I added. What is the number all about? Should I leave it, or remove it from the style file name?

Thanks,
Jim

Yamaha number their styles so if they produce another style with the same name it can be identified with a different number.

No need to remove the number it does no harm and could even help if you alter a style of a similar name.

Hi

Not right Graham ;-)
The number is the name for the icon used in the display.

Thanks for the replies! So, I guess if I leave the number thre, I'll see the various icons for the styles.

Now, if I could get the Yamaha (S900 or Tyros2) to display default tempo for my styles (it can for built-ins, but it does not seem to display default tempo on styles I create/save, even if that setting is ON).

Thanks again,
Jim
