Anyone know of good quality styles - styles at least as professional-sounding as the onboard styles on the S900? - other than those on the T2?

BTW - the #4 S900 is fabulous...I'm liking it more all the time. Love those SA voices.

Tim

Hi Tim , hows it going !!

I`m glad your S900 is still rock`n !!

I`m still looking and thinking ( ouch > LOL )

I can`t help to much with your style quest , but if you can , there was a Yamaha style that I had on my old PSR-510 you should look for as well , can`t remember the name but it was perfect for "House of the Rising Sun" , it was so good that the running bass line fit perfectly !!

O_well , Take care !! & TY again for help !!

Later,
Gary 

Gary,
All this waiting and thinking you're doing...here's something to think about...all this time you're taking to wait and think - could be used by PLAYING and ENJOYING your new S900 !!!

Sorry, I'm just a bit partial towards this great board... AND I know there are other great boards out there, but I'm just loving this one right now.

Merry Christmas
Tim

LOL

That`s cool Tim , yup the old brain is defiantly drained !!

I have always said this , the S900 is and will be the best -bang-for-the-buck !!

I still might end up with one , but I have gone this long , so now I`m waiting to see if anything comes out of NAMM.

I wish you and yours a Very Merry Christmas and a Super New Year !!

Yamaha must be going to do something with the Tyros , and Roland needs to rethink the whole "floppy" issue with the E-80 , so here I am , stuck in overdrive , going a 1,000 thoughts per minute and not playing a single note !!
Well at least on an arranger , still have the old Hammond !

Take care,
Gary 

I feel there will be new keyboards coming with some fantastic features, but for the dollar the S900 will still stand as the best buy.

The more I work with the S900 the more I appreciate what Yamaha has done. The keyboard is alive, it’s exciting. I don’t know how many have gone into the depths of a Psr3K or a Tyros 2 or the S900 Operating System, there is enough there to create whatever you may need.

I guess you could say that John has become a S900 believer.

Tim, some of the older Yamaha styles from the Psr3000 and Psr740 models have some great rhythms, they are available at no cost to you. You may have to tweak a bit.

John C.

Hi John,

Do you remember that 6/8 blues style Yamaha used to have ?
For playing "House..."

And you are VERY right about the S900

Merry Christmas

Gary[the other Gary.. )
I certainly hope if Roland rethinks the floppy...they will still keep it..I for one appreciate a floppy drive..In fact my last desktop bugged me that it didn't have a floppy drive[had to get a USB floppy drive]..Even my high end laptop ..besides fire wire also has a floppy drive...or I wouldn't have bought it..

The floppy is so easy to preview styles and SMF's from the PC to my G70 or any other Roland arranger I have owned...

If you don't want to use it ..fine but with an actual cost of around $25...I want it....It doesn't interfere with the USB transfer to and from the PC and the G70 PC card...

Same thing with midi in/out/thru...just because USB midi interface works...better keep the midi connectors if you want me to buy the keyboard...

Hi Fran ,

That is a good point , and I still have a bunch of floppies with midi files.

But I do wish the E-80 had a USB to Device port for flash drives.

Being a Mac user , my last computer that had an internal floppy drive was back in `89 running DOS

Take care , and , Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year
