Turnip, congratulations on finally deciding to join the arranger kb discussion here & congratulations on your new Roland G70. I'm really looking forward to hearing both your feedback & music created by you on it. btw, curious to find out the root of the reason why you named yourself: 'turnip'.

Scott

Hi Scottyee!
There are three reasons for using the word "turnip".

1.It sounds kinda funny(at least to me)

2.Turnip is another word for swede(I'm from Sweden you know)

3.I couldn't find a better name ;-)

Ahhhh thanks! Thanks for filling me in. I just now learned for the first time (via a google search) that a swede is a root vegetable too:
http://www.wildyorkshire.co.uk/naturediary/docs/2004/2/16.html

I wonder how many others here didn't know that either. Anyone here eaten a Swede before? . What does it taste like? I'm really interested in trying one out now.

It's amazing all the fasinating things learned on the Synthzone.

Dear Turnip;

I am curious to know if you tried and compared the G-70 to any other keyboards before you purchased it? And why you ultimately selected the G-70?

PS-- I'm assuming that the demos from your web page were made with the va-7?

Regards;
BN

How are you? Can I ask what keyboard(s) you are using in your demos? Also, correct me if i'm wrong, but it seems that the mp3s were recorded live? Via an external mic, not direct out through the mixer correct?

Hi BN!
I am using Ketron XD3 controlled by an AX7(Roland) and another Yamaha synth that belongs to the hotel. yes you are right, the MP3 files were recorded live with an MP3 player/recorder straight from the mixer.
Best regards!

I've looked at mostly all keyboards brands and I choosed the G-70 because, to me, it has the best styles among all arranger keyboards today. I think they're very "musical" with a lot of "live" feeling. Another reason is that I'm satisfied with the quality of Roland keyboards.

I don't know what you're meaning with the demos from my webpage? I don't have any web page with any demos so maybe you're thinking of another users page?
