Hi everybody!

At long last, I've finally decided to join this forum after only watched all your contributions for the last two years or so.
I'm a 44 year male from Sweden,working as an engineer at a company called SAAB(if that's familiar), married and have three children. My musical career started with playing accordion at the age of 6, and have then continued through the years with numerous organs and keyboards.
Today, I still play some accordion and organ, but mostly finger on my Alesis QS6.1, and of course my new Roland G-70!(bought it last week) I use my keyboards both at home and in my local pop/rock band.

Well,I don't know what to tell you more ..... I think this will be all for now!

Welcome Turnip !
Congrats with your new keyboard. As you probably read I was kind of disappointed in the G.. but hope you are going to enjoy the Roland.
I'm a few years older than you are, Shell employee (IT) and my musical 'career' also started at 8 or 9 years on Harmonium. (compressed air, generated with ones feet ) ..... who else started on such a machine ?

Welcome Turnip
Could you give us your opinion about your new toy (styles,performance/sounds,key, touch screen, etc)?

Dear Flavie;

How are you? Can I ask what keyboard(s) you are using in your demos? Also, correct me if i'm wrong, but it seems that the mp3s were recorded live? Via an external mic, not direct out through the mixer correct?

Regards;
BN

Hei Flavi.
Ser du har vært i Norge og at du også snakker norsk.
Where in Norway did you use to perform?
Btw, nice website and Tore Tang sounds fine in the video.

Thanks for all kind greetings!

To Gunnar Jonny and Painkiller: Kul att det finns fler "landsmän" här! Vet ni om det finns någon mer nordbo i det här forumet?

To Silva(and all others that might be intrested): I've only had the G-70 for a couple of days, but so far I'm very happy with it. Comparing it with my late VA-7, this are some of the pro's and con's I've found so far:

+++++
*Easier and faster user-interface(more buttons!)
*Better touch-screen
*Better sounds(well,some of them are almost the same as the VA-7, but most are much more realistic and clear)
*Excellent keys
*Vocal harmonizer(with autopitch and vocoder)
*More realistic styles(some of them are from the VA-7 but slightly polished,but most are completely new with a great "live"-feeling)
*Makeup- and Cover-tools, makes it easy to adjust the styles just the way you want it to be

-----
*No style morphing(I've used it quite much on the VA-7 so I'm missing it right know)
*No PC software(yet)

Despite all bad opinions the G-70 has got,(which is hard for me to understand!) I must say that I think it's a great machine, even though some things could have been better(as it always could,I guess!).
To me, the G-70 is the best arranger keyboard on the market right now.
