I had a 2 hour shot at Dayton Retirement Community from Noon - 2PM.

I'm there every month, I bring my band in for the Xmas party...Been there for almost 10 years, so its a place I really enjoyed being at. Patty works 3rd shift at a local hospital, so she was sleeping while the food cooked and I played.

It was a terrific day...

Yesterday I drove an hour each way in a Nor' Easter rain storm to play a Assisted Living Thanksgiving Family Dinner gig.....with about 100 people.
I was really pleased to see all the residents with their kids and families enjoying the holiday and singing & dancing with me ......makes you feel good to make their holiday even better thru the magic of music..........I play all holidays....
afterwards there was plenty of time to get home and enjoy my own family festivities....

Played my regulkar holiday job at a local hotel restaurant. Three of us split the job, which is from 10:30 AM to arount 10 PM. They feed over 3000 people. Been doing this since 81. Do Christmas eve, also. That's sad, because the patrons on Christmas are all alone, with no family. It's the only time of the year I play a bar. Usually 150 or so. When it's over I'm doubly grateful to have a family to go home to.

I pulled a double: one four hour gig from 9am to 1pm and another from 2:30pm to 6:30pm. Had dinner with wife in between provided by Gig #2. And to top it off, I'm about to start a seven day a week schedule through 12/23.

But I have a reward coming: on Christmas Eve I have four primo 50-yard-line tickets to see the Atlanta Falcons play the Carolina Panthers in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. I'm taking my brother and his wife, who are big Falcons fans, while my wife and I are Panther fans. Too much fun!

Did an Assisted Living job about 20 minutes from home, then had dinner at my daughters.

Cheers,

Gary
