What's the simplest song(chordwise) that you play, or will play(LOL)? I play mostly older standards that have a fairly complex chord structure but I do play some rock and roll such as Day Tripper, I Heard It Through The Grapevine, etc. These are pretty easy but lend themselves to improvisation nicely.
The simplest that I play is Feelin Alright by Dave Mason and Traffic. It consists of two chords only(as far as I can tell) but is still quite satisfing to play. Any others?

Hank Williams' Jambalaya (2 chords: I & V)
On the Tyros, I use the 'Country Pop' style.

Takin' Care of Business. It rocks, but it's monotonous. 3 chords.
Mustang Sally:3 chords
Paper Back Writer: 2 chords.

The simplest songs I play are:
"Bo Diddly" and "Who Do You Love?"
Just hit a chord and never change. I have a "Bo Diddly" style that is perfect.
I also use it for Buddy Holly's "Not Fade Away" and also Hand Jive, but they have a change or two in them.

Hey - I used to play the Joe Cocker version of Feelin Alright with some slam-grand piano. Always impresses the guitar players and the chicks when you can whomp with the left hand y'know. Good rockin' power song.

I don't play it anymore but I used to despise "Livin' On Tulsa Time" for it's monotany.

Don...just curious, maybe others out there have the same thought.
What is the attraction with Bo Diddly? Anytime I've seen him, on I don't how many shows & concerts, he always plays the same thing. Whether it's "Hey Bo Diddley", "Not Fade Away", or some other lyric line or variation, using the same progression everytime. I realize he's been around since the dawn of mankind, but it still makes me wanna flip channels.
I dunno, just gets a little boring...zzzzzzzz
I know..I'm gonna hear about it now.

I don't particularly like him either, but it's the BEAT the people like.
