Hi all.

Does somebody have a 'ska' style file (jamaican style derived from or similar to reggae) for Yamaha keyboards? Or even for another keyboard brand? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Jose

Go to this site. If you request it and take the emails I'm sure you'll get some. I've seen requests for Ska answered.

You can also go to the Files section, and also check out the archives.

But the easiest is to request what you want.

I've had no exposure to this SKA style of music, but every once in a while I get the odd request. Can someone please post a few song examples or artists? I'd like to know more about it .. it sounds like a fun, party kind of thing.
Thanx.

Hi Scott.

Many thanks for your good advice. I actually had subscribed that group but totally forgot that it existed. Meanwhile I found one 'ska' style in my huge collection. It's from an old Yamaha model, the PSR 1700. I'm posting it here in case someone's interested.

BTW, good luck for your new life path!

Hi, UD.

You're right, that's exactly what it is. The best source to learn about this style is this FAQ .

Here are a couple of other good sources, some with mp3(s):
http://ska.about.com/ http://www.syracuseska.com/ http://www.thisisska.com.ar/ http://www.billtanner.net/ska/

If you're curious enough to listen to something 'strange sounding' , you can check this link , for a sample of ska made in Portugal. Here's a midi of a ska song (made in Brazil), as well.
