This whole sample thing is a bit new to me. Don't you have to buy expensive CD's for this to work or would I be able to find quality stuff and download samples from the internet. - or any suggestions to make use of this function without having to spend an arm and a leg.

Any recording can be used as a sample (within copyright regulations). You can download WAV, AIFF or MP3's from the net, and convert them into 44.1 WAV or AIFF's to be loaded into the Triton. Obviously, the higher the quality of original sample, the better. You can also get moderately prices audio CD's for sampling, as well as CD-ROM's in Akai format.
