When I hold G,A,D in multi fingered mode my PSR550 says I played G major? Huh? If I play D,G,A it correctly says D sus4. What gives? Mult fingered mode does not have to be played in root postion?

Looks like that's the deal with all Yamaha PSR- keyboards--including my 740 and 2000.

Try it in full fingered mode. On the 740 you get G major in all its inversions right across the keyboard. Same for any key.
