Today I received my first shipment of this new Middle Eastern version of the PSRS700. All of the functions, sounds and styles are available plus the addition of over 100 middle eastern styles, dozens of middle eastern sounds, quarter tone tuning panel buttons with up to 6 memories available and many loops and percussion sounds available of middle eastern patterns and sounds for the multi-pads.
My store will be featured on the Yamaha Website next week after Yamaha shoots a video on Sept 10th at the official unvailing of this new product.
An invitation goes out to all of you who might be able to attend this event.
Mark Anderson, product manager from Yamaha, Hirtach Tourassian, clinician will both be in attendance.

Is it only data that makes the difference, or are there major changes to the OS and sounds?

In other words, can you take the styles from the Oriental, and play them in a regular S700 without them sounding awful?

Great to hear about your upcoming publicity. You work hard for the recognition. Wish I could be there to join in the fun

Please provide a future link so we can see the pics.

All of the western styles from the 700oriental can play in the 700 because they have the same sounds. None of the middle eastern styles will play correctly in a 700 because the oriental version has many different drum kits and the stock 700 will never play these correctly. You can switch the drum set on the drum track of a style on the 700 to the drum kit called "arabic" but this kit isn't even close to the middle eastern kits used on the 700oriental.

I noticed that there were no R&B or Country styles on the oriental version, so I put my thumb drive in the stock 700 and copied and pasted the missing styles and now I have them all in the 700oriental, but again, I can't do this with the Iranian, Arabic, Turkish, Greek, etc. styles

Is there any S700 sounds missing from the S700OR, or are the new sounds completely an ADDITION to the S700's soundset?

If so, perhaps the S700OR is the one to get if it is at a similar price point?

from what I can see, all the sounds of the 700 are in the oriental version. I don't see anything missing.

Will there be an oriental 900? That would get my attention immediately!
