You can't change anything but the tempo and the overall key. ( haven't tried either yet ) The real benefit is two-fold.
1) Play along with real audio files so you can include vocal harmonies, actual solo instruments etc..... Great sound
2) Play DJ style on breaks. Load up stuff that you can't ( or won't )do live and play them on the breaks while you give the folks a break from your voice !

Think of it as an SMF sequencer that plays real audio files.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your help !

So basically , that feature is just has you mentioned , and the only thing you can do is change the tempo and add vocal harmonies.

So for example a guitar solo can`t be turned into a piano solo , ok that`s cool.

Even being able to play along is pretty cool , can you real time record your performance and the MP3`s sound together ?

Many thanks your help , take care !

Gary

Hi,
actually haven't ordered the mp3 option with my PA800, but if I did, one use does spring to mind.
being a multiple keyboard owner, I think it could be handy recording backing tracks from the other keyboards as mp3's rather than midifiles. Would save having to tweak or revoice the midifile for playback in the pa800.
ie I have a ketron, trying to playback a midifile recorded on a ketron in a PA800 would sound pretty awful. Option would be to record that midifile as an mp3 & play it back as an mp3 in the PA. I could then play melody over the top using PA800 voices.

Saves having all 3 of my keyboards in the same place.

best wishes
Rikki

Hi Donny and Rikki ,

Thanks for for help and advice !

& the link !

So , this Pa800 , what other A/KB would you say is close.
I only mention this because I have never played one.
I know it`s going to beat the PSR`s atleast so far as build quality.

How does this match up against say a Tyros 2 .

Thanks again,
Gary

Donny, thanks for the link.

WOW , !

That was something , a keyboard strumming guitar sound.

I can`t speak German , but I got the basic idea , ( me thinks ).

So you can program the Pa800 to strum cords , i got that !!

Will it also be able to finger style play as well ?

That would really be cool.

Man , just think of doing "Stairway To Heaven" , the right way on an A/KB !

I know all the guitar parts , if that KB could be programed to play them , that could mean trouble for my bank account !! LOL

Thanks again for the link and your help.

I hate to ask so many questions , but I do appreciate , all the help you guy`s and gal`s provide !!

Later,
Gary

No contest. The t2 is dead silent till someone schleps an amp into the scene. This is why I can't compare the Tyros to the PA800. "WITH speakers" is non negotiable for my needs.
Thanx for asking, though !
