Hello friends,
This is an area I don't know much about as untill very recently just did not needed this, as I only gigged once in a while as guitarist.
I'm looking for a decent system for my keyboards;
1. power amplifier (2 x 300 or 500 watt)
2. mixer with at least 10 inputs
3. 2 main speaker cabinets
4. 2 monitors

The idea is to leave the power and main speaker cabinets at home for small places and just use the monitors in small places
And bring the heavy stuff for large places where then the monitors will function as
monitors.
Nevertheless the monitors itselve need to be powerfull enough as there are;
1. two guitarists with 50watt rms amps
2. bassist with 100watt rms amp
3. a drummer
There's a good dicipline in managing sound with all of us, but monitors for small studio's won't cut it.

So who's willing to give some nice setup examples?
Powered mixer ? Powered monitors? weight?

What are you using?

Thanks for any recommandations.

Fred

Fred. our band just purchased a pair of Yorkville nx520p's[550 watts each powered speakers] and a 600 watt Yorkville sub woofer..We use a Mackie CFX 12 mixer..It is by far the loudess, thumping system I have ever heard. I'm sure you don't need a system like this, but I would suggest this sytem for someone that needs fire power..For monitors we use a Soundtech and Peavy powered monitors..

Hello

You didn't mention what kind of keyboard you use, but I am very happy with two JBL 10 G2 powered speakers. I think they are about 175 watts. I use the built in mixer on my PSR2000. I use these speakers as main and monitor. These babies kick. They weigh only 23 lbs.!! I used them publicly for the first time a few weeks ago in a pretty good sized ballroom and they did the whole job.

Thanks Fran and Scott for input.
Fran,
I don't think I need that much power

Scott,
There are Kurzweil K 2600, acces virus rack C
triton rack, and occasionaly even my roland G 800 will be used.

I also did a search in the arranger section and was amazed how much it was discussed.
I guess I missed it because I wasn't in need for it.

So far I found a package deal which will probably do for a reasonable price.

That's EON 15G2SYS (2 x EON15G@ + Mixer)

Now I have to find a place where I can try them out.

Thanks,
Fred
