>Dear Bob
I agree with you 100%, but none the less it was very nice of
Yamaha USA. And it does make me feel a little better about Yamaha.
And it is a very happy ending, or should I say begining for Ryan.
Enjoying the 9000 PRO

to the manufacturer for this generosity as only a very few hundred
dollars. I am not bought off so cheaply. Charity is a normal
corporate practice in the USA, usually expressed in a company the
size of Yamaha in the many many millions of dollars. While it is
certainly a nice gesture, and I have nothing to say against it
(indeed, let me say I think it is praise-worthy), it really doesn't
speak to ME at all regarding Yamaha Japan's actions on this styles
issue.

The way I see it, the generosity of Yamaha exceeded the ability of most other individual's on this forum to meet Ryan's wish. The folks here did what they could and, collectively, may have met or exceeded Yamaha's donation. The fact that Yamaha worked with Uncle Dave verifying the authenticity of the situation and working out the details, goes beyond the mere dollar amount of the contribution.

I am personally satisfied and pleasantly surprised with Yahama USA's unsolicited gift...I bet Ryan and his family are also.

..... I'm a technics guy, not a 'yammie', but, regardless of the problems any of us might have with our chosen board, the fact that Yamaha came through like that is most commendable ... I would doubt they did as a public relations ploy, but if they did, so be it....and praising them for their gift doesn't negate one's right to complain about the things that need to be complained about.... fact is, Ryan has the board he needs, and some extras to go with it...
