Yamaha PSR9000 owners,

I have a hard time finding a carrying bag for the odd size of Yamaha PSR9000 (43-7/8"x18-5/16"x7-3/16" or 1114x464,9x182,5mm). How do you carry your 9000s? Since PSR9000 weighs 50 lbs (22.5Kg) I imagine a heavily paded bag would be preferred to hard case. Appreciate any input.

Paul,
I sell a custom made bag from Levys Case Co. in Canada. It is made to fit the PSR9000. It has heavy beige colored pading inside and includes a special compartment in the inside cover for the music rack. It has large pockets and on each end it has a velcro flapped covered pocket for things like AC adapters and sustain pedals. It sells for approx. $129.00.

George,

Do you know how much does that custom bag weigh?

A Yamaha PKB 1152 might also serve the purpose.

I also carry the PKB 1152, but I don't like how little padding there is with these bags. They do fit the keyboard but If you dropped it from a foot off the ground, I would be afraid of cracking the keyboard. The Levy's bag is very well padded and well made. I don't know the weight Paul, but it's not heavy at all.

I use "ProTec" brand cases for my keyboards and am very happy with them. Hard foam core frame, rugged yet lightweight. Highly recommended.

ProTec Web Address: http://www.ptcases.com/

Call ProTec at (800) 325-3455. I somehow remember that they have a custom case specifically made for the Yamaha PSR9000.

Protec does not sell directly to the end user but they can tell you which custom case model # is appropriate for you keyboard and refer you to a local dealer in your area.

Good luck,

- Scott

All right, I need a good rugged case but I don't wanna pay an arm and leg for it. I'd also like to know what people are doing for a dust cover? My keyboard is always on the stand and I play it everyday, so putting it in a bag isn't practical (except when gigging, then its a must). Anybody find a decent, inexpensive dust cover?

Hi Stevizard,
Do you know anyone that can sow? I had a friend to make me one for almost nothing.
Mine is light leather but could be of several
different fabrics. By friend makes hand bags.
Just a thought,
Nobby

Steven,

I remembered that George Kaye mentioned that he sells dust cover for PSR9000. See the following thread:
http://www.synthworld.com/ubbs/Forum37/HTML/000011.html

George Kaye's business phone number is 818-881-5566

The following is George's own words:

I have dust covers that fit these two products. The yamaha is clear plastic and will only fit the 740. it sells for $15.00.
The other one is a black stretch type cover that fits inside a bag when you are not using it and stretches out of the bag to go around the keyboard. It sells for $24.00. I have also carried a cover made by Levy's that is a heavier material and is made to fit a particular keyboard. It sells for $32.00.
