Frank,
IMO, you put very low Roland. For my ears, Roland sounds are near the best, specially pianos, and IMO Roland styles aren't the worse, as you say.
But it is difficult to say about "sounds", all sounds?. Perhaps I like more Yamaha strings, Roland pianos, Solton drums...

Your right I should have explained more.

I think the styles are good, they just need more variations, that are easily accesed. My EM2000 was very easy to get to the variations but there was not much of a differents.

Roland sounds are great for midi files but as solo sounds with a band they seem to get lost.

Just an opinion

Just what i think in all the experience ive had with the above makes over the years...

I dont think i would ever buy Yamaha again..
