Hey Mirza, Have you considered the Behringer B300 powered speakers? I am also thinking about which speakers to buy and was leaning for the Mackie 450's, but then discovered the Behringers. I just bought a Behringer mixer and it is quality and very reasonable. Good Luck!

Does the word "HUGE" bother you? The sx500's are just that. Very large and cumbersome. The mackies are much easier to transport, but you will get more bass from the EV's.
(15" vs. 12")The EV has a larger bass chamber, and puts out a great sound. They are just too big for my taste. If a sub is used - I think the Mackies will perform just as well.

Thanks Uncle Dave . You are the bestI was thinking about getting me one powered sub with Mackies...And than it would be EV's PSX1000,2 c300 and one powered sub...I don't think I need more bass than that..Can you suggest any sub..Maybe in a range from 400-600 US...Thanks for reply....

Powered subs - now there is a loaded topic too. Mackie makes a terrific one that has a stereo crossover built in, so only one is needed - and you can still maintain stereo imaging. The JBL counterpart has an 18" speaker and really kicks serious bass butt.
They are both in the thousand dollar range.
If you economize on the bass bin - you will work your tops harder, and that may or not become a problem in the long run. Samson makes a mid priced 500watt sub thats probably as low as I would suggest for you. Try to have at least twice the power for the bass as you do for the tops. A better equation is really about 4 to 1 ! Bass is very stingy with head room, and you can NEVER have enough. To make bass, you have to MOVE air. Period. Watts don't matter - size don't matter. MOVEMENT matters. Listen to all the choices WITHOUT the tops connected and see which one makes your tummy rumble. Try a crossover point about 120 - 250 (max). I personally like 180 with my EV's as tops.
The human ear cannot distinguish directionality in that low frequancy range, so placement is mot important either.
If you are not really thumping some MAJOR bass out - the samson should be just fine to round out the system. If you are doing large venues all the time and the bass is kickin alot - go with a larger system. It's always wise to have a little "extra" for when you need it.

Ooops ! Forgot about that one - It's great> My friend has one, and it's very powerful! It will also work as a standalone sub, or in line from a speaker outout ! Give that one a listen-to !

HI...Thanks for reply....
I have EV's powered mixer spx1000...SO I do not need powered speakers...Behringer is not bad at all..And it's cheap...I heard from some guy in a music store that they put cheap stuff in their products...But,I like some of the Behringer products...Better than Yorkville...

Behringer products are good for the money, but I think they are a few steps behind Yorkville in general quality and performance. If money is the only issue, then get the Behringer, but it's not high on repair shops lists of recommended products. Life on the raod is tough, especially for bass cabinets. Get a good solid unit, and you'll get good, solid service from it.
