Hello can i tranfer midi files from my computer directly to the psr 3000 smart disk via a usb cable or must i go the way using a usb flash drive and then to the psr 30000, if that is the only way can i access the flash drive attached to the keyboard directly at a gig or must i save it to the smart media card first before a show

No. You will have to save the information to the USB Thumb Drive, then transfer it to the 3000 via the Thumb Drive.

There really is no good method of transferring data via the USB.
