Hello

I have a Yamaha PSR2000 and love it. I also love the PA60/80. I am considering adding a PA60/80 to my arsenal like I see a lot of players do. I just became aware of the i40m. I have not seen or heard one. Can anybody give me a comparison of the tone, and features, ease of operation etc. between the PA60/80 and the i40m?

Keep in mind, at this point I use these instruments only as a one man band type of thing. I may only use the style buttons and some of the voices.

I understand that the PA styles are essentially the same as the i-series. Is that correct? I am primarily intersted in good jazz styles like on the 60/80.

As far as the voices, I prefer the Yamaha for all except the jazz organs mostly. How does the organ and other voices (instruments) compare in sound between the i and the PA?

How about dependability etc?

Can I use PA60/80 styles on an i-series as is or does it need to be converted?

Any other ideas?

Thanx

Scott

Hey Zuki

Well, I guess if one is to sell home organs, Florida is still the place to be.

Scott, I have a used i40m at my store and I have been showing it alot lately. At first I forgot alot about this module but now I'm back into it. There are very good styles in it, a vocal harmonizer, good midi file playback and the sounds are from the i30 series unlike the PA keybaords which are from the Triton series. I know that I can use i series styles in the PA but I don't know if I can use PA styles in the i series.

hi guys,

i use a style to midi converter program
by "gn midi solutions" designed for the i
series to convert the pa60/80(or from scratch) styles to fit in my
i5, so it is tricky, but can be done.
hey george, what is the i40m selling for
nowdays? imo alot of the i series styles are in the pa .
