Greetings,

I am a newbie with Digital Performer...I have 2 questions.

1. After I mix some audio files together (no midi) is there any way to "flatten" them into one file so I can save the mix as an AIFF or WAV file (which can then be burned onto a CD)?

2. Can Digital Performer open sound files (such as the collection of WAV's etc, that I already have)?

Thanks!

Rob

Whats up!
I know Digital Performer like the back of my hand. I think I know what you mean. If you have your different tracks then just select what you want to bounce down to one track, then go under one of the menus (I think it's the "Audio" menu) and select "Bounce to disk". Name the sounbite whatever you want and select stereo, 16 bit. Hit OK.
Next go into your soundbites window and select the soundbite you just bounced. Select in by clicking on it and under a menu (in the soundbite window), select Export Selected Soundbite, or maybe it just says Export, but then it will ask you where you want it saved to. Hit OK and now it is converted into a 16 bit, stereo waveform in AIFF or WAVE format. You can now select this file in your CD burning software or whatever.

To open soundfiles you already have, go into your sounbites window and click on the "I". Then find where it is, (your hard drive, CD, wherever) then hit OK. It might ask you for a place to save the new file, but go through the windows and what it tells you to do. Then you will have that soundbite at the bottom of your sounbites list. You can then click and hold on the file and drag it out onto your tracks window. Make sure if it is a mono file you drag it onto a mono track and vice versa.

P.S. Digi Performer is the BEST!!! MAC is da bomb!!!
