What the heck happened to the Yamaha QY-100
topic that was posted last week?
I posted followup questions last week, and
it looks like whoever posted the topic,
may have deleted it!

Vquestor,
I was advised that some records got "unintentionally" deleted when the "Synthzone Server" crashed a few days ago. This also included a few members (including myself) losing their profile/password.

EVERYONE, please check your user name, password, & profile information (date registered, member status, total posts, and other profile data) to make sure they are correct.

If your password no longer works and/or profile information is incorrect, contact Nigel (Synthzone System Administrator) at: nigelsp@synthzone.com

Yes, as Scott mentioned some files were lost during the server crash. The QY-100 thread must have been one of them. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Let's talk about the QY 100! What do you want to know.
It is starting to ship this week!
One of the questions I saw a few weeks ago was regarding what you can save on a smart media card. You can save everything in the QY including songs, patterns, user effects. You can save one at a time or all.
The wave rom on this new QY has been expanded so it will sound like the XG sounds in the 9000 Pro. I just had a talk with the product Manager for pro products and he informed me of this upgrade over the QY 70. Also, the effects for guitar input are programable and there are three effects which are just for this option. And when you turn off the power, unless you re-initialize the QY 100 you don't loose any of your settings.
Very Cool,
Maybe I'll have them tomorrow.

Hi guys.
If I remember correctly, I posted the
following questions:
1)Is it compatible with QY-22 Styles, and
Songs?
2)Any User drum kits that can save editing
tunings of individual drums?
3)Microtonal Scale capability?
4)Time Signature still limited to 16 beats
per measure?
5)Is there any syle conversion software
available for other brand's styles to
QY-format?
Much thanks.

I will explain. The 48 MB of wave rom in the PSR9000 is for all the sounds. This includes the panel sounds and the XG sounds. The XG sounds are all that are in the QY100. What I meant and should have said is that the XG chip that is in the QY100 is a newer generation chip, so that the XG sounds will sound somewhat better than the QY70. This is the same XG chip that is in the 9000 pro.
Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Hi Vqustor & George,
There's a fairly good write up in the Yamaha press releases from NAMM showing. Try this site.
http://www.giles.com/yamaha1/whatsnew1.html

Click on QY-100 just below the picture in
the center.

Sounds like a lot in a small package! Huh?
I would like to find out more about about it!
Hope this helps,
Nobby

Does any one know where I can find any more information on the QY-100? I'm interested in it. I would really like to know what it was capable of in the right hands.
Thanks a 1,000,000! Til your better paid,
Nobby

The MAMM press release does not answer
any of my questions posted 2-1-01.
Does anyone know where I can find the
answers?
