The advantages of singing through the keyboard are obvious, but do you think there is a degradation of vocal quality in doing so? I've been experimenting with my XD9 and still haven't decided for sure, but I think I'm hearing a slight "out of the can/metalic" coloration (effects are off). Anyone else notice something similar... or opinions?

Singing thru the Yamaha PSR9k/pro/2k sounds great. It depends on the internal voc processor and how you set up FX in YOUR KB.

Donny, were you satisfied with your vocals thru the XD9? Maybe I don't have the internal eq and fx right.

To tell you the truth I never really could get the sound that I wanted from the xd9 regarding vocals. Its a little tricky to set up. What is your difficulty excactly?

Seems like a tunnel or hollow coloration, but I'm still trying to figure out the XD9 mic setup.

What kind of mic ?

are you evaluating the sound from the onboard speakers ?

No, I have the KB speakers off, but hearing the same (similar) results with 3 different speakers... Carvin PA, Kawai keyboard speaker, and JBL Eon G10s.
