Wow a Kurzweil arranger. I can just imagine what the price tag will be. Kurzweil makes awsome workstations and they are quite expensive. Top line arrangers tend to run higher than synth/workstations, and I can't see Kurzweil making a budget lower end arranger workstation. The sounds will be top notch, no doubt about that one. You guys remember that $20,000 Kurzweil "Sweetwater" was selling? You could get the "Sweetwater" version of it for $12-$15,000

I would think that if they do decide to make one, they will have a lot of catching up to do, since the other companies have years of experience and feedback.

I can do something similar with omb software, ( Style Factoery) but it would be great if EMC does it for all types of arrangers. About time somebody thought to create software for this type of function.

Strange, I don't ever remember Kurzweil ever having had an arranger keyboard ?

Kurzweil has had arranger functions on their console digital keyboards for some time now. It wouldn't take much for them to incorporate that system into a "portable" keyboard. I would suspect they would use their PS2 board as a model, the 2600 might be too much board to market.

Actually a few years ago I imported a couple of Roland G 800 styles in my K 2600.
I first converted the styles to midi in Cakewalk and then recorded the styles in realtime straight in the onboard sequencer of the K 2600.

So indeed I think it won't take them much to include the conversion in the O/S.

Personally I wouldn't need something like that as I don't use styles anymore, but looks like a nice feature.

Something new happens...
The onboard sequencer made the K2k being a workstation. It's the same principle as in Yamaha's V-50 workstation. I'm having both of them but I'm using Cubase Audio as the sequence controller because it's much better for handling. Imho that little trick gives all synths the ability to be used as a workstation.
