First, regarding 1+2 vs 7+8, you can't change the meanings (ports) connected to these numbers. For me, that means that when I fire up the mixer, I have to manually flip it back to 7+8 if I want to use headphones, then to 1+2 before saving a snapshot. A minor annoyance which I solved by plugging my phones into the phone jack on my speakers. Regarding the MIDI/joystick port, the MIDI works great! I have heard some say that they lost the joystick portion of the port, others say it's fine. I don't own a joystick so I don't care either way. Regarding latency, I am convinced the latency is much lower than with the crappy Creative drivers, even just for MME. I can run SimSynth and an old bad Cakewalk with 10-20 millisecond latency, which seems pretty good to me. I am about to install Cakewalk 9, which promises a faster audio and MIDI engine, so we'll see if I can do even better. ------------------ Curiously Refreshing music: http://mp3.com/alectroboy [This message has been edited by Alectroboy (edited 01-10-2001).]
