What matters is your own desire to do things (or learn how to do them). If you had/ have no real desire to play or write music no instructor is going to change that for you.

I think we've discussed it many, many times. If you ffeel like learning how to play from a professional musician who thinks he can help you then you're not going to lose anything by trying. However, don't expect him to do all the work for you.
