I did the same comparison years ago between Pa600-pa900-pa3x. And you're right.

Now the question is, the new pa700, with it's 4x increased memory, will it sound like to pa3x? That'd be already something. But that's a little bit of no sense question, as the sound difference between Pa600/Pa700 and Pa3x/Pa4x is also given by the final output converters. And probably the size of each sound sample.
