Yes, I nice way to spice up your midi song files. Audio styles are the most realistic (authentic) sounding, but at the same time narrows the amount of songs that will fit to that fixed drum part.

On my Tyros 5, I can fit a good 2 or 3 songs to each of the 60 or so available Tyros 5 Audio Styles, but similarly as in your demo video, I can easily Sync/Start a midi song file to any of the Audio style drum parts, plus manual control over all the variation, fill/break buttons. In addition I can Sync/Start a Midi Song file to all the parts of a Tyros 5 Audio style while I match the chording with my left hand playing.

The TOTL Tyros 5 arranger can even take it a step further by Sync/Starting a Midi Song file, an (Audio) Style and an Audio Multipad, plus the ability to record your performance to the Tyros 5 Audio Recorder/Player.

I do like the flexibility of Midi, but I do like having the combination of using Audio technology as well. I am looking forward to Yamaha's upcoming Tyros/Genos model where the technology will be taken a step further, while other arrangers are only catching up.

SYNC-STARTing a MIDI song-(Audio) Style-Audio Multipad (Tyros 5)

Here are two Tyros 5 midi song files, Sync/Started with the Audio Drum Part from two suitable Tyros 5 Audio Styles, 80sShuffle and SheriffReggae. Tyros 5 Audio Drum parts can easily be reassembled in another style in Style Creator, or Sync/Start with a Midi Song File. I used the Real Reverb DSP in the Effects Reverb DSP block for all my style and Midi Song parts, however the same Real Reverb can also be suitably applied to the audio track to help match the ambiance.
