Sokratis is correct. Maybe I had better explain it this way. It is similar to having 'Grooves' in the older Ketron products like the SD1. Grooves are Audio which have been cut up and 'assigned' to keys. However when to play what and for how long ... etc is controlled by MIDI data. Same principle here.

Hope this better explains it (which is why I initially told you MIDI) ... it's MIDI data which controls the AUDIO data - which is what you actually hear.
