I disagree.
Version 1.x works like a charm.
So far I did not see any reason for updating.
If you don't like version 1, you won't like version 2 either.
It still is cakewalk and has another layout as cubase or logic audio.
If you don't own version 1.x then indeed go for version 2.

The advantages I think of Sonar against the other two by the way are in my opinium;
1. Much lesser processor load
2. More solid in usage as cubase or logic audio
3. better compatibility with different system setups.
4. ease of use

For a good working DAW with cubase or logic audio you need to built a machine which you will only use for that purpose.
Sonar is much more forgiven.
