I have the Roland MC500 MKII (the older version of the MC50 MKII). I just ordered the MC80 (the newest Roland hardware sequencer based on the MC50 MKII.)
I have been very satisfied with Roland hardware sequencer products. I think they could use some work on making their manuals more user friendly. I've called Roland support for questions concerning my sequencer and they've been pretty helpful.
If your satisfied that you can get your music on 8 tracks (most software sequencers give you at least twice as many tracks) I think you'd like the MC50 MKII.
On thing I noticed is that I get more done with my hardware sequencer than with software-based sequencers running on a PC. It's much faster for me to push the buttons than position a mouse and click (sometimes more than one time) to accomplish the same thing.
