Regarding my saga trying to get this HDM machine for my PSR2000 - a device that gives semi-hard drive capabilities for your keyboard, I'm still trying.
Since I have heard from three PSR2000 owners in Europe who own this device and are happy with it, I am interested.
The fellow in Germany who sells this thing just raised the price from $177 + shipping to $300 + shipping. Even though he originally quoted me $177, when I told him I was ready to purchase three weeks later, he told me $300. When I told him that I didn't think that it was fair to raise the price so much, and I offered him a little more, he simply didn't respond to my emails.
So I thought I would try the guy who makes this thing who lives in the Ukraine. He doesn't speak a word of English and has never answered my emails.
My sister's mother-in-law was going to help me buy it from him, but when she found out that the seller I wanted to contact was in the Ukraine and couldn't accept credit cards, she insisted I would be ripped off.
So I had a lady-friend from Russia contact this guy. She told me that the first time she called him he sounded drunk (It was 7:00 a.m. in the Ukraine). He thought he had a US contact for us to send our money to and that the device would be sent afterwards. When we called again, my friend reported that he sounded strange. The Ukranian said that he hadn't been able to come up with a contact person in the US, but that he would email me. It's been a week with no email. My friend told me that if this guy doesn't send an email, why do I think he would ever send me the goods if I paid him. Good point.
I now have a friend from Germany who has lots of contacts with other Germans who belong to my spiritual organization. We're going to see if we can buy this device in person - hopefully for less than $300.
In the meantime, I have a friend who is 16 years old who is a computer and tech genius. He looked at the 2AV.com website and looked at the device. He told me that he thought he could build something similar with flash memory. He told me that it would only be worth his time if he could build ten of these and sell them. I told him that if it worked, he could probably sell them. He told me that he would tell me this week whether he thinks he can really build it.
I'll keep you guys posted.
