Okie Dokie boys and girls, the jury is back !
I recently added the new Roland KCW-1 sub woofer to my JBL eon10G2 rig and that was the icing that this cake needed ! This baby performed flawlessly at two large affairs I did this week, and it's SOOooooo small!
( 17-1/4(w) x 17-3/8(d) x 18-1/8(h) )
weight is 50lbs 12 oz, but it's balanced well with a top handle and it lays close to your body in carriage. Not bad at all .... especially if you just need to carry it to your dolly, like I do.
It's 200Watts, has XLR AND 1/4" inputs.
It has XLR "pass through" jacks and it's stereo! What more could you ask for?
This unit seems to be marketed as an "add on" for the KC line of KB amps, as they provide a sub out, and the size matches up well with the smaller units, but I've had EV, JBL, Peavey and Dawn subs ... and this one is at the top of the pack in it's class.
It's a 10" speaker, but in a square box .... the output is FAT and FULL. I hardly need to crank it up either. The extra "ooomph" that it adds is just what the JBL's lack at higher levels, or when supported on sticks.
Remember, bass frequencies are non-directional so this puppy can be located ANYWHERE on stage and still perform well.
I'm so pleased with it.My new rig is the smallest and most flexible I've ever had, and for those times when I only need a small speaker .... one eon does great.
Larger job? 2 eons.
Need the bass to rattle tunnys? 2 eons and the sub. Simple. All in the truck, all the time. Simple set up and great sound.
I actually forget what I paid for it, but I traded my JBL eonG2sub and got other stuff in the deal, so it was significantly less than that. I sort of rememebr it was in the 300-400 range, but don't quote me.
I trade so many things....I forget the individual values. All I know is - I'm happy that I swapped the larger, odd shaped JBL for this tiny, cube like wonder !
Bring on the bass !
Pappa oom mow mow ...........
